Family: The One Thing You Can't Choose...

I am very lucky to have a family that loves me. We might not always get along. My parents didn't buy me a pony for my 16th birthday, or a Mercedes when I was Valedictorian. I've lived in basement apartments, a women's shelter, eaten 2 for 1 Pizza's everyday after school and have not had the luxury of a white picket fence "Leave it Beaver" nuclear family.

We make the effort to stay together, even when we're a world's apart. Mom is in San Diego, Dad, brother "Cubb" and sister Dog were all in Toronto, and me, Xiao Xiong, has been here in Beijing for almost 2 years now.

Well now my dear sister, who is a filmmaker is here in Beijing to stay until after the Olympics. Mom and dad also came. We haven't spent time like this all together since I was 7. It felt great. I am very thankful. Very touched. Make evry moment count with your loved ones. Look at the big pcture. Cause at the end of the day, relationships count the MOST...
