Endangered Arts

2011-12-07 12:55:26
Having wrapped up our series on China's entrepreneurs, we're off to film a program on some of China's historic traditions under threat of extinction.  Why are some arts are under threat, and what's the best way to preserve them?
We'll explore Shen embroidery in Shanghai (or thereabouts), and traditional opera (The Peony Pavilion), performed at the Imperial Granary in Beijing.
I'm glad to have a break from economics to focus on culture, and as always learn something new, although the more I think about it, the two are inseparable.
Do share your views and I'll do my best to ask any questions that you would like me to ask… ...

2011-11-29 06:48:16
I'm currently filming a series that features a few of China's entrepreneurs. It's been absolutely fascinating learning about their journeys to success, but I'm having a hard time grappling with hi-tech innovation.

Thoughts anyone?.....

Thank you for taking the time to comment.  Always much appreciated.

I’m multitasking on my smartphone and laptop and can feel myself going cross-eyed. It’s time to sit back and ponder the innovation race once again. ......
